Overview & Highlights

Located just a stone's throw away from the bustling heart of Bogotá, Rio Parrilla is a hidden gem tucked away in La Calera, Cundinamarca. This vibrant restaurant offers not just an enticing menu but also a chance to connect with nature. Imagine enjoying your meal while listening to the soothing sounds of the nearby river and the chirps of local birds—a perfect blend of culinary delight and serene ambiance.

At Rio Parrilla, the offerings are both diverse and delectable. Start your meal with a Verde De La Montaña salad, which features fresh lettuces mixed with ripe avocado and the chef's specially crafted vinaigrette for only COP 15,000. For a slightly more extravagant option, try the Frutos Del Bosque salad, bursting with vibrant flavors of arugula, cherry tomatoes, and dried blueberries for COP 20,000. These salads reflect the restaurant's commitment to freshness and quality ingredients.

But it’s the recommended dishes that truly stand out. The La Vaca Sobre La Arepa, an arepa filled with rich cheese, juicy churrasco, and chimichurri, offers an explosion of flavor that truly encapsulates Colombian culinary art at COP 38,000. Meanwhile, the Maduro Costeño, featuring warm roasted plantains topped with melted campesino cheese, is a must-try for those seeking comfort food perfection, priced at COP 18,000. Each dish resonates with a sense of tradition, taking your taste buds on a flavorful journey through Colombia's rich gastronomic landscape.

As for dessert, don’t miss the Oblea topped with your choice of four toppings, allowing you to indulge in sweetness your way for only COP 8,000. It's a delightful finish to a meal that celebrates local flavors.

Patrons rave about the overall experience, highlighting the enchanting setting and the delicious food. Daniela Robayo mentions the joy of dining in a setting that encourages connection with nature, although she suggests a softer music ambiance to truly enjoy the surroundings. Sandra Velasquez emphasizes the perfect harmony of price and experience, while Viviana Salazar adores the pet-friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with furry companions. However, there are comments about the need for improved service—an aspect that could enhance what is already a wonderful dining experience.

In summary, Rio Parrilla stands out as a culinary oasis that not only satisfies your appetite but also nourishes your soul with its beautiful surroundings. Whether you're there for a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner, this restaurant offers a tapestry of flavors in a quaint and nature-rich environment. So pack your appetite and your love for nature, and head to Rio Parrilla for an unforgettable gastronomic adventure.

Gran lugar, rica comida, buen cafecito. El servicio puede mejorar, nuestro mesero fue un poco despistado. Pero la naturaleza, el río, es especial.
